I’m reading your book on the train in to work, I was getting very emotional about it. One lady asked if I was ok and I told her it was the book…oh she said reading the title, then asked me if it was a war classic. I told her about the history behind the book and she looked very interested and asked where she could buy one… so I gave her your name.

My father Kenny Mosher joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in early 1940, just before his 19th birthday. He had applied seven months earlier and tried again. Funny...he was joining the Air Force and on his application said he preferred a job on the ground. Dad was afraid of heights.

Dad trained at No. 1 Wireless School in Montreal in 1940. He then became an instructor at No. 2 Wireless School, Calgary.

Kenny Mosher sailed from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada to Scotland on March 11, 1942, a day after receiving his commission.

John calls us the 110 Survivors. I like that.

So far we have a small group — a 94-year old pilot, the brother of a pilot who died with his WAG in December 1942 while practicing dives over Karachi Harbour and the nephew of that WAG, the son of the OC (Officer Commanding) of Flight A and the daughter of a WAG.
