He had applied seven months earlier and tried again. Funny...he was joining the Air Force and on his application said he preferred a job on the ground. Dad was afraid of heights. &lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;Dad trained at No. 1 Wireless School in Montreal in 1940. I like that.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So far we have a small group — a 94-year old pilot, the brother of a pilot who died with his WAG in December 1942 while practicing dives over Karachi Harbour and the nephew of that WAG, the son of the OC (Officer Commanding) of Flight A and the daughter of a WAG.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Dedicated to 110 Hyderabad Squadron&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Pilot Billie "Hoagie" Carmichael, WAG Thomas Lawton&lt;br /&gt;Pilot Redge W. Duncan, WAG B.C. Harvey&lt;br /&gt;Pilot P.F. "Robbie" Robinson, WAG Kenneth B. Mosher&lt;br /&gt;Pilot Rodney C. Topley, OC, WAG Dave Cummin&lt;br /&gt;Medical Officer Peter Latcham&lt;br /&gt;Reconnaissance Robert "Bill" Thompson&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Also&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Pilot R.C.
